President Donald Trump’s feud with the NFL over their player’s disrespectful attitude towards the national anthem seems over — and Trump won.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to each of the league’s 32 teams on Tuesday, where he made it clear that the league is ready to move past the ongoing controversy — and he’s going to address a rule change at the league’s fall meetings starting next Tuesday.

“Like many of our fans, we believe that everyone should stand for the national anthem. It is an important moment in our game. We want to honor our flag and our country, and our fans expect that of us,” the memo read.

Goodell implied he would require players to stand for the anthem by including in rule changes “such elements as an in-season platform to promote the work of our players on these core issues.”

Trump told supporters last month that owners should fire players who kneel during the anthem, calling attention to the movement started by now-unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick has since said he’s willing to stand for the anthem if a team would hire him. None have done so.
