President Donald Trump has had a busy last couple of weeks with Hurricanes striking Texas and Florida, a major U.N. meeting in New York, and nuclear threats from North Korea… among other things.

But recent poll numbers show that Americans are proud of the president, and he has one of his highest approval ratings yet.

The POLITCO/Morning Consult poll shows Trump at 43 percent this week, up drastically from 39 percent last month.

In the RealClear politics poll Trump has a 41 percent approval rating, up 2.5 points from last month.

According to Gallup’s weekly poll, Trump skyrocketed a whopping 30 percent among independents in August to 35 percent last week.

If he continues his upward path in approval ratings, Trump could soon surpass former President Bill Clinton’s approval rating at the same time in his presidency, which was 46.

Trump has had to respond quickly to recent natural disasters, something both his predecessors were harshly criticized for during their term.

“There has been some rallying behind President Trump for his handling of hurricanes Harvey and Irma,” said Lee Mirington, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.

In addition to his response to Harvey and Irma, Trump delivered a speech at the U.N. where he proved the United States was not going to allow North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to walk all over us.

Trump declared harsher sanctions on North Korea during his U.N. speech in response to Kim’s multiple nuclear threats.

Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera appeared Friday on “Fox and Friends,” to discuss his reasoning for Trump’s rising approval.

“It’s no accident that his approval rating across the board is ticking up. Why is that? It’s because he has shown leadership and compassion and understanding of suffering in terms of Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and now Hurricane Maria. He has really stepped up to the plate.”

But Rivera didn’t stop there. He continued saying, “The other reason the president’s popularity ticked up is this strength and reason and steadiness is showing with the ‘Rocket Man.'”

While Trump has been criticized by the left as “not presidential,” it could be argued that he is instead redefining the title – and Americans like it.
