Democrat billionaire launched project to force impeachment of Trump

yet another plot to get Trump out of the White House has been exposed – and it’s one even leading Democrats are trying to stop.
Billionaire Tom Steyer has spent $20 million on a campaign to oust Trump, and while it’s been unsuccessful thus far, it’s starting to pick up speed.

The Expensive Campaign
Steyer has historically spent over $170 million on liberal causes and candidates in the past, usually on efforts to stop American dependence on fossil fuels. Now, however, he is trying to get Trump impeached and removed from office. Steyer told C-SPAN:
What he [Trump] is doing on a daily basis is apparent to almost every American. From our standpoint, we don’t really understand the political calculation about whether this is smart or dumb. What we are trying to do is what is right, and we think this is right and important. … I don’t even understand that argument.
Steyer’s political group, NextGen Climate, spent approximately $56 million in 2016 alone trying to get Democrats elected.

The billionaire himself spent another $86 million – all on unsuccessful campaigns.
He is now spending his money on television ads calling for the impeachment of Trump.

The spots characterize the president’s firing of FBI Director James Comey as obstruction, sending TV viewers to a website where they can sign a petition calling for impeachment proceedings to begin; the site has 3.5 million signatures since November.
But Will it Work?
While it might seem like a pointless effort, Steyer’s ads are starting to have an effect.
According to an NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll last week, 41% of those surveyed want Congress to hold impeachment hearings; however, the poll only surveyed 900.
