I WANT JOY......

I Want Joy

I want so much joy that it spills out of my soul

In such a manner that it affects everyone that I

Come into contact with - in a good way, a Godly way.

Deep down inside of me there is a small flame,

I know it is there, I can sense it - my body groans

For it to intensify - for this flame of joy to burst

Forth and ripple throughout my entire being.

Joy that is so strong that even if the devil himself

Stepped in front of me I would just laugh in his

Face and continue on my way - powerful joy.

Joy so consuming that nothing nor no one could

Darken my days or keep me awake at night.

What can I do to fan that little flame Lord?

Search my heart, my mind, and my entire being

And tell me what it is that I am doing to prevent

This joy from exploding within me - I need to know.

I blame no one else nor do I blame you Father for I

Know that you have done your job in equipping me.

Where have I and how have I quenched this flame

My Master? What attitude or what misconception

About you have I allowed to cloud my thoughts and

Mislead my mind? I cry out to you now in the majestic

Name of your son Jesus to light my path and set my

Soul afire with your awesome gift of everlasting joy.
