During a firestorm of criticism over President Donald Trump’s controversial summit with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, CNN Analyst Phillip Mudd took the liberal “resistance” movement to an insane level.
Appearing on Anderson Cooper’s AC360 show, Mudd called for the “shadow government” to come forward and overthrow the Trump administration.

Cooper asked Mudd, a former FBI official, if he agreed with Arizona Sen. John McCains harsh criticism of Trump’s performance. Mudd jumped on the comment.
“You have seen senators come out [against Trump],” Mudd said. “In the past, we have seen the senator who is in the midst of a painful illness, Senator McCain. Senators like Jeff Flake who are leaving the Senate. Now you see Marco Rubio still, obviously, in the fight speaking out.”
Then, Mudd seemingly implied that anti-Trump agents working in the government should perform a “Deep State” coup.

“Curious point in American government,” Mudd asked. “When do we see almost a shadow government come out and say, ‘We cannot side with the government, whether its cabinet or the Senate.’ I think that’s the big question.”

Mudd wasn’t alone in his suggestions that Trump should be overthrown.
Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen, a Democrat, suggested the military should perform a coup and seize control of the country.


Washington Rep. Adam Smith, a Democrat and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, declared there was no way to “sugarcoat” it — Trump had committed “treason.” Smith later issued a half-hearted apology for the statement, saying it might have been a “little bit of hyperbole.”
Of course, just months ago Trump was criticized by the mainstream media for joking about the word treason. The Washington Post wrote on Feb. 6, “Why Trump flippantly accusing Democrats of ‘treason’ is not a laughing matter.”

Now, the Left is casually calling for a violent coup of the American government.
