Top Kavanaugh accuser’s testimony derailed Tuesday?

On Tuesday, the California professor who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault was contradicted by a man she dated for six years. In fact, it was implied that she was lying under oath.
An ex-boyfriend of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford wrote a declaration that was released on Tuesday by Committee Chairman Chuck Grassleym, a Republican. The letter contradicted much Ford’s testimony last Thursday — specifically her claim that she has never helped anyone prepare for a polygraph test.
The man, who reportedly dated Ford from 1992 to 1998, wrote in the letter sent to Grassley that Ford once helped a friend take a polygraph. Additionally, the letter also said she never mentioned being a victim of sexual assault, that she had no problem with airplane flights, and that she wasn’t prone to feelings of claustrophobia.

The letter sent to Grassley poked a hole in Ford’s testimony by stating, she helped a friend prepare for a polygraph by “explaining in detail what to ­expect” and “how polygraphs worked.”
Last Thursday, sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell asked Ford if she had ever talked to lawyers or anyone else on “how to take a polygraph.” Ford responded, “Never.”

Ford’s ex-boyfriend, whose name was redacted from the declaration, claimed he watched Ford coach who he believed was her “life-long best friend” prepare for a polygraph test. He added that the woman’s name is Monica McLean.
He further explained that, “During our time dating, Dr. Ford never brought up anything regarding her experience as a victim of sexual assault, harassment, or misconduct.”
The former boyfriend also noted that she never seemed to have a fear of flying. He reported that even when she flew on a propeller plane around the islands of Hawaii, Ford did not seem fearful.
He also wrote that she had no problem living in a “very small,” 500 sq. ft. apartment and “never expressed a fear of closed quarters, tight spaces, or places with only one exit.”

His claims contradicted Ford’s testimony that she was delayed on coming to Washington D.C. because her fear of flying. He also contradicted her suggestion that she added a second front door to her home because she was fearful of living in a closed in space.
Referencing Ford’s ex-boyfriend’s sworn testimony, Grassley demanded that Ford’s therapist turn over any key materials or footage taken during her polygraph test.
Grassley suggested that the validity of Ford’s testimony could be in question if she was less than truthful about her experience with polygraph examinations.
“Your continued withholding of material evidence despite multiple requests is unacceptable as the Senate exercises its constitutional responsibility of advice and consent for a judicial nomination,” Grassley wrote.

Grassley had also demanded that Ford’s attorney turn over notes from her 2012 therapy sessions where she allegedly told her husband about the sexual assault she experienced three decades ago.
The critical letter from Ford’s ex-boyfriend comes as sources have announced that the FBI has plans to wrap up their investigation into accusations against Kavanaugh as soon as late Wednesday.
A final Senate confirmation vote over Kavanaugh’s confirmation is likely to happen by the end of the week.
