Liberal 'communications' professor leads students in physically intimidating reporters at racialist 'protest' event

(NaturalNews) Unrest and disobedience at the University of Missouri over alleged "racial tension" has now entered the realm of the absurd, as a professor of mass media is actually inciting student followers to eject – wait for it – the mass media from the protests, thereby ensuring that their case won't be made to tens of millions of Americans around the country.

As reported by Breitbart News, Tuesday was yet another day of chaos on the university's campus – a day after "the mob" forced the resignation of the school's top officials, the president and the chancellor. This follows weeks of campus disruptions that are being inspired, in large part, by out-of-towners associated with the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

But it was also a day of media censorship – which is totally confusing, given that a mass media professor ought to know that students can't get their message out to the world without the use of mass media.

As Breitbart further noted, though, the professor's tactic is part of the "script":

Following in the media-hostile tradition of Black Lives Matter, a student journalist named Tim Tai, who was working for ESPN, was accosted and intimidated by the crowd, who attempted to block him from doing his work. When he pointed out he had the right to be there, the mob continued to surround him and other journalists trying to report on the University of Missouri story.



The video above documents the accosting of Tai as he attempts to do his job and explain that, under the First Amendment, he has as much right to cover the event as the students have to participate in it. As you will see, however, the angry student mob is only interested in exercising their rights, while denying Tai his right to report.

At the end of the video, a woman approaches student photojournalist Mark Schierbecker, who is standing in a public space. It shows her trying to grab his camera and then calling for "muscle" to remove him.

The woman? She is actually, as a Twitter user pointed out, University of Missouri Communications Assistant Professor Melissa Click.

You can't make this stuff up.

But then, when you read her her MU faculty page, you immediately understand "who" she is – a hack political activist who is less interested in "mass media communications" and much more in advancing a radical Left-wing agenda:

Dr. Melissa A. Click earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Communication at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her research interests center on popular culture texts and audiences, particularly texts and audiences disdained in mainstream culture. Her work in this area is guided by audience studies, theories of gender and sexuality, and media literacy. Current research projects involve 50 Shades of Grey readers, the impact of social media in fans' relationship with Lady Gaga, masculinity and male fans, messages about class and food in reality television programming, and messages about work in children's television programs.

"No word on whether Ms. Click will face sanctions or face criminal prosecution for her actions, or whether she will be teaching a course in Introduction to Sick Iro[n]y 101," Breitbart News reported.

And here's more irony:

-- The MU school system is completely dominated by Left-wing radicals and hacks, so if "the campus" is so unsafe and so racist, isn't it the fault of the same Left-wing radicals who run the place but are now ginning up this unrest? But you likely can't find 10 students who are involved in this insanity and can realize that.

-- Regarding the blatant act of restricting Tai from exercising his First Amendment rights, the university is home to one of the nation's top journalism schools. In fact, it may actually be the oldest formal school of journalism in the world – but is certainly the oldest established school of journalism in the United States.
