Abandoned Abode

Skin stretched o'er corpsy bone -
Death has come, life is gone
While we, with weeping mournful song
Bid thee our farewell

But thou whose soul was hid in Christ
Is transferred to the Land of Light
Which shall ne'er be dim with dark of night
Nor ever sin its landscape blight

Rejoicing there in heavenly scene
Resting calm in joy serene
Beholding, too, thy Master's face
Conformed to Him in mercy's grace

O that we might join thee there
To gaze upon our Savior fair
And in unending praises share
The glories of our King
