How Can I?

How can one such as I
stand before Almighty God,
the Maker of the universe,
and with this God converse?

Just a tiny drop
in the fullness of the sea;
a flawed and broken specimen
of humanity.
Captive to self’s sinful deeds;
proud – but blind, deceived.
How is it that the King
bids these to come to Him?

Because His love has won!
He, the Way, the Truth, the Life,
the Lord of Heaven… from above
came to show God’s heart of love.

That awful Cross!
Triumphant Cross!
The enemy crushed;
sin defeated!
Risen, He lives…
therefore shall we.
His special treasure;
loved with no measure.

What more can one need,
but to respond and believe.
That’s how we stand…
by grace in our Father’s hand!
