(NaturalNews) The health insurance industry that exists today is a failing business model, mainly because it compensates an often vicious, deadly model of healthcare. Check out Pharma Death Clock to get an idea of the full scope of the problem.

The system also detaches people from true health responsibility, allowing consumers to pay their monthly premiums and forget about where their health really comes from. What if health insurance premium money was used for better preventative care? What if less was spent on depending on interventions and more was spent on healthier lifestyle decisions and getting proper nutrition? Many of the high cost interventions of the healthcare system could be avoided altogether, if for instance, there was greater breastfeeding support for mothers and newborns in their first year of life. In one comprehensive review, researchers reported that greater breastfeeding rates could save 820,000 premature childhood deaths (under 5 years) each year. Additionally, thousands of ER visits could be avoided for cases of diarrhea and respiratory infection.

Monthly premiums reach 6 year high, even after the Affordable Care Act was passed

The health insurance industry could not be sustained, even after the entire system was given a bailout by the federal government. As many are finding out, taxpaying American citizens are now being perpetually fined until they can prove to the IRS that they have purchased health insurance. Even though people are forced to sign up for health insurance or be fined regardless, the health insurance industry is still imploding. Insurance premiums have now reached a 6 year high, even after the Affordable Care Act was passed.

In fact, health insurance premiums are going up faster than the average person's wage, and are even spiraling out of control faster than the inflation rate of the dollar. According to a report from Freedom Partners, premiums increased an average of 28 percent between 2009 and 2014. "Obamacare" has been in place since March 23, 2010, promising consumers affordable health insurance, but the government's forceful health insurance bailout scheme isn't helping out at all, when you consider the premiums that people have to pay each month.

ACA benefits medical system, drug companies, while sucking American people dry

It's starting to look like the medical system is the one getting all the benefits from the Affordable Care Act. The people sure aren't seeing the benefits. More of their money is being taken each month, for the promise that they'll be taken care of when they get sick.

Can politicians like Obama even call it a benefit that more people are being covered by health insurance when the only thing these enrollees get to look forward to is skyrocketing monthly premiums, year after year? And for those who don't use the system and put their money in better places, they are being taxed more heavily when they file their income taxes. It's a lose-lose situation for individuals of all backgrounds. Health insurance is just a win-win for the drug companies, who are continually rewarded and compensated for their destructive practice of suppressing people's immune systems with their arsenal of "treatments," including chemotherapy.

American families are being burdened by this unsustainable system. In 2009, the Obama administration seemed concerned about the plight of Americans. In a report titled, "The Burden of Health Insurance Premium Increases on American Families," the administration pointed out that premiums had increased by 5.5 percent between 2008 and 2009.

Now that Obamacare has been in place for six years, the premiums have spiked even more, going up 9.4 percent in the law's first year and increasing since then.

"In 2009, when the [Executive Office of the President] issued its report, states had seen premiums increase on average by 30 percent between 2004 and 2009," states the Freedom Partners report. "But since 2009, health insurance premiums have continued to grow faster than wages in nearly every state, averaging a 28 percent increase from 2009 to 2014, resulting in a greater amount of disposable income being consumed by rising premiums."

"The Administration claimed the ACA would bend the cost curve, but our report shows it bent in the wrong direction—premiums didn't slow down under the Affordable Care Act, they sped up," said Nathan Nascimento, senior policy adviser at Freedom Partners. "No wonder the White House is trying to change the national conversation away from health care costs. By their own standards, the Affordable Care Act has failed."
