"He Giveth His Beloved Sleep"

Sometimes we want to fret
When we cannot fall asleep.
Perhaps someone asked you,
"Why don't you just count sheep?"

Has counting imaginary sheep
Really ever worked for you?
Just try talking to the Shepherd.
Then let Him talk to you.

You can talk to the Shepherd
When to the Lord you pray,
And when you read God's Word,
You'll know what He doth say.

When you really cannot sleep,
Try praying for a little while.
The Lord can give you comfort.
Then fall asleep with a smile.
