JACOB'S FAVORITE SON JOSEPH

Joseph was his father's favorite lad;
This made his brothers very sad;
So they talked and planned to get rid of him;
They threw him in a pit where the light was dim.

When some Midianite traders came passing by;
They sold him to the Ishmaelites for 20 shekeks of silver so he would
not die.
His coat of many colors the brothers tore and put in blood;
So their father would believe that he was dead.

"Is this the coat that Joseph had?"
"Yes" they said,"Some beast must have killed the lad."
Some years later a drought went thru the land;
Their father sent the brothers to Egypt for a helping hand.

Their sacks were filled with food to take back;
Each man's money was returned to him in his sack.
They were very afraid, but when the food was gone, Jacob made
a fuss;
He wanted them to go back to Egypt, but his sons said,"Benjamin
must come with us."

They put Benjamin on a donkey and away they went;
Back to Egypt where they had been sent.
"I am your brother Joseph," the Ruler then said;
"Tell your father to bring his family here and you will have plenty of
bread."
