I Didn't Know I Could Fly

Baby Bird lived the life of ease
In his soft and comfortable nest.
Mother Bird faithfully fed him.
All that he had to do was rest.

Then one day the time came.
Baby Bird had to pass a test.
Would his wings be flight worthy
When Mother pushed him from the nest?

"I'm really afraid!" peeped Baby Bird.
"I'm way up in the tree so high!"
Then Mother pushed him from the nest.
He said, "I didn't know I could fly!"

New babes in Christ may not know that
Jesus can come in the twinkling of an eye.
If He comes soon, they may be surprised
That they will actually be able to fly.

Friend, are you also flight worthy
If Jesus should return this very day?
Are your sins all under the blood?
Have you accepted Jesus, the only Way?

When Jesus comes back in the air,
Christians will meet Him in the sky.
They'll sail through the air and may say,
"Yea, I didn't know I could fly!"
