Our Beloved Preacher

Our Beloved Preacher

We loved to go to church on the Sabbath day,
And hear what our old preacher had to say.
From the Bible all his scriptures he took,
By heart he knew about all of this book.
Our preacher reads to us from the bible,
But first he prays for all our sins to begin.
He reads the scriptures of Jesus teachings,
Explaining to us the meaning with preaching.
When he got old his eyesight began to fail.
The bible passages became blurred he nearly fell.
The eye doctor told him he must wear glasses;
But he prayed to God to let him see without them.
God answered his prayer healing his eyes that day.
All the rest of his life he could see OK.
Jesus blessed him without glasses without pay.
Our preacher truly had God's Holy Spirit .
