The names given to aloe vera show us how powerful it is. Native Americans called it the ‘wand of heaven’ while the Egyptians named it the ‘plant of immortality’.

Now, science has taken a keen look at the powerful properties of this plant. It contains amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, which can benefit the body when ingested.

In fact, research shows that aloe vera has strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties that strengthen the immune system. But there’s much more you can get from aloe vera.

Enzymes

Aloe vera has powerful enzymes that improve digestion by breaking down sugar and fat molecules. These enzymes include bradykinase, amylase and lipase. It’s worth noting that these enzymes fight inflammation.

Minerals

Aloe vera has minerals that boost performance of organs and metabolism. They include copper, potassium, iron, magnesium, chromium, zinc, sodium, calcium, and selenium.

Amino acids

Aloe vera has 20 (out of the 22) essential amino acids that our bodies need. These amino acids fight bad bacteria and inflammation.
