Donald Trump publicly takes down corrupt FBI Deputy Director McCabe

With high-ranking members of the FBI coming under scrutiny lately, Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Donald Trump’s transition team and their alleged collusion with Russia is in trouble. Now, Trump is calling out a major FBI official.
FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe announced on Saturday his plan to step down from his role in the “coming months,” but President Trump wants everyone to know why McCabe isn’t stepping down now: he doesn’t want any ongoing investigations to hurt his retirement benefits.

Trump tweeted:

It’s safe to say that McCabe was deservedly called out.

Calls to Step Down
McCabe began his current role at the FBI just weeks ago, but served as acting director of the bureau from May to August, after former Director James Comey was fired by President Trump for allegedly being unwilling to declare Trump’s innocence openly.

McCabe’s stated intention to retire follows two closed-door sessions with more than 16 hours of testimony before the House Intelligence, Oversight and Judiciary committee. It is widely believed that, in those sessions, McCabe informed congressional leaders that he could corroborate Comey’s testimony regarding his conversation with Trump wherein the president allegedly asked Comey to show him loyalty.
The president vehemently denies these allegations.
McCabe most recently made headlines on Sunday, when Fox News reported that McCabe was unethical in his support of his wife’s political campaign, a claim previously made by government watchdog group, Judicial Watch. President Trump reiterated this revelation on Twitter.


With this and other cases of corruption in the FBI becoming public, calls for McCabe to step down have been coming in fast and furious. Even Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) hinted at the possibility of McCabe’s departure earlier this month, when he stated he would be “a little bit surprised if [McCabe’s] still an employee of the FBI this time next week.”
Systemic FBI Bias
The FBI has been widely criticized in recent months after anti-Trump and pro-Hillary text messages from one of its highest-ranking counterintelligence officials became public.
