THE TREE......

The Tree
One lonely stark weather beaten tree
Jutting up out of the wind swept ground.
No leaves on its worn bleak branches
And no living thing seeking shelter or
Nourishment from what little life it contains.
It bows over as if it is trying to settle
Down onto the sun scorched searing landscape.
Whether or not the wind is blowing the tree
Remains bent over and listless - hanging its head.
Father God I cry out to you now in the name of your
Son Jesus to never ever allow me to be like this tree.
That, no matter how the winds may blow, and no matter
How bad the circumstances are around me, I will not only
Stand tall and strong on your word but I will lean in to whatever
Comes my way and with my arms out stretched I will praise
Your name and always be a shelter and a source of
Comfort to those around me. Amen.
