President Donald Trump didn’t hold back his contempt for the media and their co-called “Deep State” pals — and he said what every American was thinking Tuesday about the latest leaks from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.
It’s “disgraceful” that a list of questions that the special counsel investigating Russian election meddling was “leaked” to the news media, Trump said. Supporters say the leak is further proof the entire Mueller investigation is an unfair political “witch hunt.”

The New York Times late Monday published the nearly four dozen questions given to Trump’s attorneys regarding the firing FBI Director James Comey last May and Trump’s tweets.


The leaked questions are proof that the Mueller investigation is a witch hunt, critics say, because they should be private. Trump also didn’t have a chance to answer them.

Instead, it was leaked only with the intent to make Trump look bad. For example, imagine if your local newspaper reported that a police officer had questioned a local school teacher about robberies at the school. Readers would assume the teacher was robbing the school… but there’s any number of reasons why the police may have had questions.
It’s worth noting that Mueller has brought forward zero evidence of crimes related to Russian election interference during the 2016 campaign.
Trump repeatedly has called the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller a “witch hunt” and insists there was no collusion between his campaign and Russia. Trump has also accused Comey of leaking classified information. Mueller was appointed to oversee the investigation by the deputy attorney general after Trump fired Comey in May 2017.
Although Mueller’s team has indicated to Trump’s lawyers that he’s not considered a target, they still leaked the questions Mueller wanted to ask the president.

Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow declined to comment on Monday night, as did White House lawyer Ty Cobb.
