(Natural News) March for Our Lives and other leftist anti-gun propaganda organizations routinely obfuscate the facts concerning firearm-associated crimes, perpetuating the lie that guns are always dangerous whenever they’re in the hands of ordinary citizens. But the fact of the matter is that guns save lives, too.
This was evidenced once again by a recent attempted mass shooting that was thwarted by a law-abiding citizen with a concealed firearm. Reports indicate that a bystander, who has not been named, brandished his legally-acquired firearm when a criminal began shooting up a public park in Florida where young children were attending a back-to-school event.
Dubbed “Peace in the City,” the gathering was reportedly billed as “a day of fun, no violence!” – which just goes to show that designated “gun-free zones” do nothing to stop criminals from using them there. The bystander, trained in firearm use, pulled out his gun at just the right time to stop a potential tragedy that may have resulted in many injuries and deaths.
“The bystander who shot the suspect waited for officers and has been fully cooperative with the investigation,” reported local Titusville news affiliate WFTV.
Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson also had positive things to say about the bystander, expressing gratitude for his presence and ability to protect the children from gun violence using his own gun.
“We are extremely grateful that nobody else was injured in this incident,” said Deputy Hutchinson. “This suspect opened fire at a crowded public park, and this could have been so much worse.”

Without the Second Amendment, dozens of children, parents, and teachers could have ended up dead
Streaming video of the incident captured on Facebook Live shows children, their parents, and their teachers seated at picnic tables looking at school supplies when the gunfire begins. It also depicts the bystander immediately intervening to stop it, which authorities say was done within the bounds of the law.
The bystander shot the suspect without killing him, though reports aren’t indicative as to his chances of survival. If he does live, the attacker will more than likely face serious charges for his crimes.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media is absent in reporting on the incident because it doesn’t fit the fake news narrative that all guns are bad and need to be removed from society – even though, had the bystander not been present with his gun, many people, including children, could have ended up dead.
A similar incident occurred back in 2016 at a Minnesota mall, where a man with a concealed gun stopped a rampaging knife murderer from killing shoppers. Had the mall been a “gun-free” zone, however, the situation could have gone much differently.
And even though you likely aren’t hearing about it, incidents where guns save lives happen all the time. According to a study published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) back in the 1990s, nearly 2.5 million Americans use guns for self-defense, or to prevent a horrible tragedy, during the two-year period analyzed.
“Guns were used defensively by victims about 3.6 times as often as they were used offensively by criminals,” says criminology professor Gary Kleck.
More recent research has come to similar conclusions, revealing that an armed citizenry is vital to the safety of society. Contrary to the leftist narrative, if the American citizenry wasn’t armed, there would likely be far more crime taking place, as criminals will obtain guns and use them, regardless of what the law dictates.
“Armed and unarmed citizens engaged the shooter in 10 (mass shooting) incidents. They safely and successfully ended the shootings in eight of those incidents,” reads a report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on the benefits of the Second Amendment. “Their selfless actions likely saved many lives.”
