(Natural News) The World Health Organization (WHO) put its hypocrisy on full display recently, when Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus sanctimoniously insisted that first world countries should think twice before following the example of Canada in legalizing the recreational use of cannabis, because addictive substances are “not good for human health.”
This, despite the fact that the WHO has a murky history of involvement with Big Pharma in distributing dangerous vaccines and experimental drugs in Africa, placing the health of citizens there at serious risk.
Perhaps the “human health” of African people is less important to the WHO than that of people in affluent first world countries?
‘Just say no’
The U.K.’s Daily Mail reported recently that Canada’s decision to follow in the footsteps of Uruguay and legalize the recreational use of pot has resulted in fierce debate – a debate which Dr. Tedros was quick to weigh in on during a recent trip to the Philippines.
“Of course we believe that people who need it, especially for pain management, should have it. There should be access,” he said, but was quick to add that such access requires careful regulation and that full legalization comes with serious risks.
“I think any addictive substance is not good for human health,” he added. “We wouldn’t encourage countries to follow those who are actually… legalizing it.”
The Canadian government insists that legalizing marijuana use in this way will eliminate the problem of drug trafficking, and nine U.S. states seem to feel the same way, having also taken the decision to pass this type of legislation.
100% organic essential oil sets now available for your home and personal care, including Rosemary, Oregano, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Clary Sage and more, all 100% organic and laboratory tested for safety. A multitude of uses, from stress reduction to topical first aid. See the complete listing here, and help support this news site.

Dr. Tedros argues, however, that marijuana needs to be regulated in the same way as tobacco and alcohol, both of which carry serious health risks. He believes that countries like Canada that do choose to legalize cannabis need to carefully monitor the impact of their decision by doing routine assessments on recreational cannabis users.
WHO: Squeaky clean in the west, but dark dealings in Africa
Irrespective of one’s feelings about the legalization of recreational cannabis use, the hypocrisy of the World Health Organization in taking this stance is glaring. The agency’s actions have certainly not shown a consistent interest in protecting “human health” – including the health of unborn children.
Back in 2014, for instance, UNICEF and the WHO were directly involved in the distribution of a vaccine that contained a sterilization chemical designed to trigger miscarriages in young Kenyan women. Over 2.3 million young girls were given the vaccine. Natural News reported at the time:
“We sent six samples from around Kenya to laboratories in South Africa. They tested positive for the HCG antigen,” Dr. Muhame Ngare of the Mercy Medical Centre in Nairobi told LifeSiteNews. “They were all laced with HCG.”
HCG is a chemical developed by the World Health Organization for sterilization purposes. When injected into the body of a young woman, it causes a pregnancy to be destroyed by the body’s own antibody response to the HCG, resulting in a spontaneous abortion. Its effectiveness lasts for years, causing abortions in women up to three years after the injections.
Dr. Ngare called the campaign a “well-coordinated forceful population control mass sterilization exercise using a proven fertility regulating vaccine.”
Sadly, this is by no means the only example of the WHO’s dodgy dealings in African and other third world countries; the organization has also been involved in testing risky vaccines, and dumping expired and potentially dangerous medications and vaccinations on the people in these countries.
One wonders, therefore, why Dr. Tedros is making a big deal out of recreational marijuana use when the WHO has no problem looking the other way while the health of people in third world countries is seriously compromised by the organization’s activities.
