THE BOY AND HIS BIBLE

Once upon a time, there lived a boy named Michael. He was a very lazy boy. All he did was lie under trees and sleep.
One say, Michael's mother said, "You need to learn to read."
"I don't want to read," he replied. His mother got him a teacher, but she could not teach him, and frustrated, she gave up.
One day, a man came to visit Michael and his mother. He asked, "Michael, why didn't you try to make an effort to learn to read when your aunt was teaching you?" Michael did not respond. The man continued, "If you learn to read by next month, you will get a prize."
Motivated by the word 'prize', Michael started to practice; his mother saw and commended him on his good performance. As the end of the month drew nearer, Michael grew better and better, and as the deadline arrived Michael had transformed into an avid reader.
Michael was now anxious for his prize, but a week went by and there was no sign of the man who had promised him his bounty.
Then one day, while retrieving his mother's mail from the mailbox, among the letters he saw a package addressed to him. He hurried inside and showed his mother. His prize had finally arrived. Michael was giddy with excitement, he opened the present and to his delight it was a Bible with his name and a small note etched inside. The note read, "Cherish and obey." It was the best present that Michael ever received, and he read from its pages every day.
