REMENBERING DAD

My dad I know loved Jesus Christ.
At first we lived in a big old house.
I saw the he had a lot of white mice.
Dad had built cages for them that were nice.

After that we moved to a rock house.
It was on a high mountain and very nice.
Daddy would pray before we all ate.
Thanking God for all our food so great.

My dad loved animals and he had a lot.
He got  homing pigeons we enjoyed much.
And too he had all kinds of chickens and ducks.
There were reds, white, and speckled chickens too.

I helped my dad build a fence on several acres then.
He bought milch goats yes he did.
They were all nannies with no kids.
Then found a big billy goat the paper he read.

This was during the great depression you know.
Daddy tried to get into small businesses but slow.
He tried selling colored potatoes chips and snow balls.
And ice cream but he got very few calls.

So my dad when into the plastering business you see.
He got some jobs but it was hard times for us all and he.
My dad worked hard for all of his family and me;
And we got through the depression by God's grace.

My daddy died at the young age of only 55 years.
In 1955 my dad died and we shed many tears.
My dad was good to all his family and me.
Now in his heavenly home with God is he.
