ONE BRILLIANT MOMENT

One Brilliant Moment

Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach

Your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing." And

Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!". John 20:27-28


"My Lord and My God" – what a glorious heartfelt exclamation.

Oh, to have been standing there next to Thomas as the realization

Came to him – sudden enlightenment like a bright flash of lightning.

All of his doubts erased in a matter of seconds, exasperation removed.

Suddenly Thomas found himself in the center of the universe standing

Next to its creator, what an awesome event, mere words cannot describe it.

Not only did this loving disciple’s world get turned right side up but he

Immediately developed a confidence in the Lord that no man could ever

Shake nor take from him – he knew, that he knew, that he knew – forever.

Oh how Thomas was blessed, but the story doesn’t end there does it?

Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed

Are those who have not seen me yet have believed." John 20:29

Our loving Saviour has promised us our own special blessing – in His own words.

So with those words in my heart and in my head I cling to His robe – even though

Sometimes it’s by a very thin thread, but I clutch tightly and hold on to it anyway.

I hold on until He reaches down and grabs my frail hands in His and pulls me up

Off my knees. As I rise to my feet I find myself again refreshed, restored, and

Renewed – ever the Healer, the Comforter, and the Protector, even though thousands

Of years have passed since Thomas’ magnificent realization and Christ’s simple promise

Was made to mankind – a true testament to the width, breadth, and depth of God’s power

And of His unlimited love for His children.
