THE GARDEN THAT THE LOVING GOD GAVE US

THE GARDEN THAT THE LOVING GOD GAVE US
We had a large family garden patch;
WITH a fence and gate that closed with a latch.
We grew lots of large red and yellow tomatoes;
And we had lots of white Irish potatoes.
God's red sun came out to make all the plants grow;
But the weeds came up and we had to hoe.
Red beets there too and ate the tops for greens;
And lots and lots of good navy beans.
Cucumbers, peas, and carrots we grew there too;
And they were real good when cooked in a stew.
The cabbage heads were very hard;
And we thanked the Lord for the good sod.
In another part of the garden strawberries grew;
We all really enjoyed eating everything too.
So we thanked God for Blessing us with all fruits.
And our labor the Lord blessed us with that suits.
